What we do
Where the damage usually is
Rot or termite damage may extend beyond the part you can see. We open the affected area where needed, assess the timber and provide a written scope before quoting. Carpentry repairs have a five-year workmanship warranty.
Subfloor, bearers & joists
We replace failed bearers and joists, restore floor levels and address the moisture source where it contributed to the damage.
Typically one to three weeks on site
Termite & rot damage
We check wall frames, studs, lintels, subfloor members and roof timbers before pricing the repair. We replace damaged structural members and coordinate the work with your pest treatment.
One to three weeks, depending on extent
Building report defects
Structural timber items flagged in a pre-purchase or pre-sale inspection, scoped against the report and rectified, with written documentation of what was replaced to hand back to the buyer, seller, or agent. We work to settlement dates.

Storm & impact damage
We repair damaged roof timbers, wall frames, posts and beams after storms or impact. We document the damage and can work to an insurer's assessment.

Roof structure
Sagging rooflines, cracked or overspanned rafters, failed ridge and hanging beams, rotted eaves, fascia and barge runs. Where the covering has to come off to reach the timber, our roofing side handles it inside the same job rather than as a second trade.

Elevated decks & balconies
We repair failed posts, bearers, ledger boards, fixings and balustrades on raised decks and balconies. This service covers structural repairs rather than surface refinishing.
One to two weeks on site
What we no longer take on
We focus on structural work. We do not take on door adjustments, single deck board swaps, deck sanding or oiling, standalone skirting or architrave replacement, gate repairs or other handyman calls. We can suggest a handyman if that is the work you need.

How we work
Step 01
Structural assessment
Ramon visits within 48 hours of your call. If the damage is hidden, he may need to lift boards or open a section of lining. You receive a written assessment.
Step 02
Scope and fixed quote
The fixed quote lists the repair work. If we find further damage, we show you photographs and ask for written approval of the variation before continuing.
Step 03
Staged, documented repair
We plan the repair to keep the structure supported. You get photographs before the work is closed up and a record of the timber replaced.

Before you call
How quickly can you come out?
Assessment within 48 hours of your call, anywhere in Canberra. Where the damage is hidden, we'll lift boards or open a section of lining during that visit, so the scope is built on the actual extent rather than a guess from the surface.
What size jobs do you take on?
We take on structural timber repairs, including subfloors, framing, termite and rot damage, roof structure, and deck or balcony substructures. Most jobs take one to three weeks on site. We do not take on door adjustments, single board swaps, deck refinishing or handyman calls.
How do I know whether it's structural?
Signs include a floor that bounces or slopes, soft skirting, movement in a deck, or cracking above a door or window. We can assess the cause on site.
What's the difference between a handyman and a licensed carpenter?
Structural timber work needs an appropriately licensed contractor. Our licence number is 350148C, and we carry $20M public liability insurance. For minor maintenance, a handyman may be a better fit.
Can I get a quote from a photo?
A photo can help us understand the problem, but rot or termite damage may extend beyond what is visible. We assess structural repairs on site before giving a fixed quote.
Do you work with engineers?
Yes. If a repair needs an engineer's design or certification, we work to the drawings and coordinate the inspection. We discuss that requirement during the assessment.

Do you guarantee the work?
Five-year workmanship warranty on all carpentry, in writing on every invoice. Materials carry the manufacturer's own warranty in addition. On structural repairs you also get a written record of what was replaced and photographs of the work before it was closed up.
