How quickly can you respond to an emergency roof leak?
For active leaks, we'll be on the roof same-day Monday to Saturday. Out of hours, call 0448 464 599 and we'll talk you through tarping it until first light. Free emergency assessment, full repair quote within 24 hours.
Do you handle insurance claims for storm damage?
Yes. We photograph the damage and provide an itemised written assessment. We can discuss the repair scope with your insurer or assessor if needed.
Roof restoration vs full replacement: which do I actually need?
Restoration may be enough if the roof covering and structure are sound. Replacement may be needed when materials have reached the end of their life or leaks are widespread. We explain the recommendation after a free inspection and quote the work in writing.
How much does a Colorbond re-roof cost in Canberra?
Most residential re-roofs cost $8,000 to $25,000, depending on roof size, pitch and materials. The written quote lists removal, sarking, battens, sheeting, capping and flashings.
How much does a roof restoration cost in Canberra?
Most residential restorations cost $5,000 to $20,000. Roof size, pitch, tile type, ridge repairs, coating and access affect the price. We give you a fixed written quote after inspecting the roof.
What's the difference between a licensed carpenter and a handyman?
Structural timber work needs the right trade licence and insurance. Our contractor licence is 350148C, and we carry $20M public liability insurance. For minor adjustments or maintenance, a handyman may be a better fit.
Can I get a quote over text without you coming out?
For deck, pergola and roofing work, text or WhatsApp a photo to Ramon on 0448 464 599 and you'll have a ballpark the same afternoon. Structural repairs are different: rot and termite damage are almost never the size they look from the surface, so we assess on site and open up where we need to before putting a number on it.
Do you still take on small repair jobs?
Our carpentry repair work now focuses on structural timber, including subfloors, frames, termite damage and deck substructures. We do not take on door adjustments, single deck board swaps, gate repairs or one-off handyman calls.
How much does it cost to repair a rotten deck board in Canberra?
We do not replace single boards or sand and re-oil decks. If the rot reaches the posts, bearers or joists, we can assess a structural repair or full replacement and give you a written quote.

Decks, pergolas & verandahs.
Repair or replace an old deck: which is right?
A structural repair may be enough if the rest of the deck is sound. Widespread rot or a failed substructure may call for replacement. We inspect the deck before recommending either option.
How long does a standard deck or pergola build take?
A standard 20 to 40 square metre deck usually takes two to three weeks on site. A pergola usually takes one to two weeks. Larger or multi-level builds can take longer; your quote includes the expected dates.
Will it survive a Canberra winter?
We use materials suited to Canberra frost and summer heat, including spotted gum, merbau and blackbutt for decking. The installation has a five-year workmanship warranty. Cleaning and re-oiling help maintain the finish.
What materials do you build with?
Decks: spotted gum, merbau, blackbutt, treated pine where the design calls for it. Pergolas: hardwood framing with Colorbond, polycarbonate, or shade cloth roofing depending on the space. Verandahs: hardwood post and beam with Colorbond roofing colour-matched to the house. Every quote names the material, the grade, and the supplier.
Joinery & renovations.
Do you do built-in wardrobes?
Yes. We build and fit wardrobes to the room. Most single-room wardrobe jobs take one to two weeks. The quote lists the materials, hardware and start date.
Can you do the carpentry for a kitchen or bathroom renovation?
Yes. We handle doors, skirting, architraves, trim and other carpentry alongside your plumber, electrician, tiler and cabinetmaker. A single-room fit-out usually takes one to two weeks of carpentry work on site.
Do you install internal doors and hardware?
Yes. We install and replace internal doors, fit hardware and adjust doors when frames have settled. The written quote names the door, hardware and finish.
Pricing & payment.
How do quotes work: fixed or estimate?
We usually give a fixed written quote after the site visit. It lists the work and price. If we uncover extra work, we photograph it and ask you to approve a written variation before continuing.
Do you take a deposit?
For repair jobs under $7,500 we typically don't take a deposit at all. Pay on completion. For larger jobs, ACT Fair Trading caps deposits on home building work above $7,500 at 6.5 per cent of the contract price. We'll never ask for more than that upfront. Trade licence and insurance certificates go out with every quote, before any deposit conversation.
What payment methods do you accept?
You can pay by bank transfer. We also accept credit and debit cards for jobs under $5,000. Larger jobs use progress payments tied to milestones in the written contract.

Are you licensed?
Yes. Our contractor licence number is 350148C. We include licence details with each quote. We are also a Colorbond Accredited Installer.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry $20M public liability insurance and send the current certificate with each quote.
What's the workmanship warranty?
Carpentry has a five-year workmanship warranty. Roofing installations have a ten-year workmanship warranty. Both are provided in writing. Material warranties come from the manufacturer and depend on the product used.
