How a roof job runs

Step 01

Free inspection

Ramon climbs every roof himself before quoting. A free 30-minute roof estimate with a verbal ballpark on the day, or a paid full inspection with a photo report and written assessment in your inbox within 24 hours of the visit. Booked within 48 hours of your call, anywhere in Canberra.

Step 02

Three-tier written quote

Patch, repair, or full replacement. Line items, fixed price. If the honest answer is “your roof has another five years in it”, that’s what the report says. We’d rather earn your trust now than over-quote you.

Step 03

Same-week start

Most spot repairs done the same day. Full re-roofs scheduled within the fortnight, completed in two to five days on site.

Or send Ramon a photo of what the roof is doing on 0448 464 599. You’ll have a ballpark price the same afternoon.

Credentials

What stands behind the work

A roof you cannot see is only as good as the licence, the accreditation, and the insurance behind the trade installing it. Three things that matter on every quote we send.

Colorbond Accredited Installer

Colorbond’s manufacturer warranty only stands when the install is done by an accredited installer. Hire an unaccredited team and you void the material warranty alongside the workmanship one. We send the accreditation certificate with the quote.

Inner South specialists

Specialising in Canberra’s inner south: Yarralumla, Deakin, Griffith, Red Hill, Forrest, Kingston, Barton, Manuka, Curtin, Garran. Twenty years on these streets means we know which homes have terracotta tile, which have original Colorbond, and what every era of Canberra build is about to need next.

Licenced and Insured · $20M Public Liability

Licenced and Insured · twenty million dollars of public liability insurance, sent with every quote before you pay a cent. Required for landlord insurance compliance, for bond-claim repair work, and for keeping your own home insurance valid.

Common questions

Before you call

How quickly can you respond to an emergency roof leak?

For active leaks, we’ll be on the roof same-day Monday to Saturday. Out of hours, call 0448 464 599 and we’ll talk you through tarping it until first light. Free emergency assessment, full repair quote within 24 hours.

Do you handle insurance claims for storm damage?

Yes. Free written assessment with photographs, insurance-claim-ready format. We work directly with NRMA, AAMI, GIO, Suncorp, RACQ, and most major insurers. We’ve documented enough hailstorm jobs to know exactly what your insurer needs to release the claim.

The free roof inspection: what’s the catch?

No catch. Free inspection across all Canberra suburbs, within 48 hours of your call. You get a written assessment with photographs and three options: minimum (patch and seal), middle (repair and treat), full (replacement). If the honest answer is “your roof has another five years in it”, that’s what the report says. We’d rather earn your trust now than over-quote you for a job you don’t need.

How much does a Colorbond re-roof cost in Canberra?

Eight to twenty-five thousand for most residential homes, depending on roof size, pitch, and material choice. Includes removal of the old roof, sarking, battens, Colorbond installation, ridge capping, flashings, and a ten-year workmanship warranty. We quote in writing after a free site visit with line items and no surprise extras.

What’s the warranty on a re-roof?

Ten-year workmanship warranty in writing, plus the Colorbond manufacturer warranty on the material itself (separately covered, up to thirty years on Colorbond Ultra). Warranty validity requires accredited install. We’re a Colorbond Accredited Installer, so the manufacturer warranty stands.

Do you do tile roofs or just Colorbond?

Both. Tile repairs, ridge re-bedding, broken tile replacement, and tile-to-Colorbond conversions. The default for full re-roofs these days is Colorbond because it’s lighter, faster to install, and rated for the Canberra climate, but we’ll re-tile or repair tiles if that’s what your home calls for.

What about gutters and downpipes?

Full gutter installation and replacement, downpipe installation, stormwater drainage solutions, gutter cleaning, leaf guard fitting. We do gutters as a standalone job or bundled with a re-roof. Most gutter replacements take one to two days.

Roof restoration vs full replacement: which do I actually need?

Restoration is the right call when the tiles or sheets themselves still have working life in them but the surface, ridge bedding, broken tiles, and protective coating have aged out. Replacement is the right call when the roof structure is failing, the material has reached the end of its life, or the leak pattern is widespread. The free inspection report names which one your roof actually needs in writing, with the trade-off explained. Restoration is typically 40 to 70 per cent of the cost of replacement and adds 15-plus years of life.

How long does a roof restoration take?

Three to five days for most residential roofs in Canberra, depending on the size of the roof, the pitch, the access, and whether the ridge needs full re-bedding or just touch-up. The high-pressure clean and the coating both need dry weather, so the schedule depends on a clear forecast window. We block out a contingency day either side.

How much does a roof restoration cost in Canberra?

Most residential roof restorations in Canberra fall in the $5,000 to $20,000 range. The variables that move the number: roof size and pitch, tile type (terracotta is dearer than concrete), how much ridge re-bedding is needed, the colour and grade of the coating, and access. We send a fixed line-item quote in writing after the free inspection.

What’s involved in a tile-to-Colorbond conversion?

Removal and disposal of the existing tile roof, a structural assessment by the licensed builder, engineer sign-off where the load change requires it, then a full Colorbond or Zincalume install with new sarking, battens, and flashings. The Building Approval (BA) process runs in parallel and we handle it end to end. Most conversions take four to seven days on site once the BA is in hand.

How often should I get my gutters cleaned in Canberra?

Twice a year is the safe rhythm: once in autumn after the leaf drop, once in early spring before the storm season. If you have a heavily wooded block, that climbs to three or four times a year, or a leaf guard install pays for itself inside two years. Standalone gutter cleans are typically half a day on a single-storey home.

Are timber fascia boards replaced like for like, or do you use Colorbond fascia covers?

For most homes we recommend Colorbond metal fascia covers fitted over the existing timber, or fitted as part of a full gutter renewal. Lower maintenance, colour-matched to the roof and gutter, and no rotted timber to chase across the next two decades. Where the timber is sound and the home calls for like-for-like, we will replace timber to timber.

What’s actually in the photo report I get with an inspection?

A full photo set covering every part of the roof, a written defect list with location notes, a three-tier recommendation (patch / repair / replace), an indication of the working life remaining on the roof, and any flags for insurance or structural concerns. Paid inspections come with a same-day or next-day written report depending on the tier you book.
