What we do
Work we take on
We build new decks, pergolas and verandahs, and replace old ones. Standard decks take two to three weeks on site. Pergolas and verandahs usually take one to two weeks. A full architectural deck can cost up to $35,000. Every job comes with a written five-year workmanship warranty.
New deck builds
We build the frame, posts, joists, boards and balustrade, then finish the timber with oil. Options include spotted gum and merbau, single or split levels, and attached or freestanding designs.

Pergola installation
Attached or freestanding pergolas with Colorbond or polycarbonate roofing. An electrician can install lighting and fans as part of the build.
One to two weeks · 12-25m² typical
Verandah construction
Wraparound or single-aspect, integrated with the existing rooflines, decking and timber balustrade. Suits older Canberra homes that never had one and contemporary builds adding outdoor undercover space.
Two to three weeks
Deck replacement & rebuild
We remove the old deck, assess the substructure and replace failed timber. The new build includes bearers, joists, boards and balustrade as needed.

Pergola replacement & re-roof
Pergolas past repair taken down and rebuilt from the posts up. Where the structure is still sound, the roof alone replaced in Colorbond, polycarbonate, or shadecloth, with storm-cracked posts and beams renewed and the flashing redone. Insurance-claim documentation if you're going through a claim.

Custom outdoor structures
We also build outdoor kitchens, barbecue surrounds, screens, shade structures, shed frames and new timber gates. The quote lists the materials and work for your project.

Step 01
Free site visit
Ramon visits the site within 48 hours of your call. You can discuss the layout, timber, roofing and any lighting you want included.
Step 02
Written quote & design
The quote lists the work, materials and fixed price. If the scope changes during the build, we ask for your written approval before proceeding.
Step 03
Build start
We agree on a start date and expected duration. Standard decks take two to three weeks on site; pergolas and verandahs usually take one to two weeks.

Before you call
How long does it take to build a deck in Canberra?
Most standard deck builds run two to three weeks on site, depending on size, levels, and substructure. Twelve to forty square metres is the typical range. Larger architectural builds with multiple levels or heavy structural work can run four to six weeks. We give you a fixed start and finish date in writing before the build begins.
What's the best timber for a deck in Canberra?
Spotted gum is hard and lighter in colour. Merbau is darker and warmer in tone. Both need regular cleaning and oiling to maintain the finish in Canberra's climate. We can show you samples at the site visit.
How much does a pergola cost in Canberra?
A standard 12 to 25 square metre pergola typically costs $5,000 to $18,000. Size, roofing material, posts, lighting and fans affect the price. We provide a fixed written quote after a free site visit.
Can you restore an older deck instead of replacing it?
We do not sand and re-oil decks. We can replace a deck or repair its structure when posts, bearers or joists have failed. If the structure is sound and the deck only needs refinishing, a deck maintenance specialist is a better fit.
Do I need council approval for a deck or pergola in the ACT?
Approval depends on the project's size, height, location and design. We discuss the requirements at the site visit and can handle the application paperwork if needed.
What's the warranty on a new deck?
Five-year workmanship warranty in writing on every carpentry build. Materials carry the timber and fixings supplier warranties separately.

Availability changes through the year. Contact us with the scope and your preferred finish date, and we will tell you what we can schedule.
